Let Me In
There were only a few times in which I have had the opportunity to watch good movies about vampires and this was one of these ocations.
“Let me In” is a swedish movie that won more than 17 awards, and it became famous all around the world. The movie shows typical swedish landscapes, and let us see something about how the swedish society functions and behaves.
Two children that meet each other in the same neighborhood fall in love, the girl is a misterious character that drags all the attention and ends up being the center of the story.
The boy makes the role of an innocent and indefense child who needs some protection as a consequence of being abused by his schoolmates.
All the story is developed in the seventy years, so the cars, furniture and clothes are typical of that time.
An excellent movie to watch, to enjoy the suspense and the tenderness of a misterious love story.
DEJAME ENTRAR
Ganadora de varios galardones, entre ellos el premio de la critica de cine de Boston o el festival de Gotemburgo, esta película sueca del año 2008 cuenta la historia de dos niños desprotegidos que se enfrentan a la dureza del mundo desde un lugar común: el de “ser diferentes”.
Es una película de vampiros que no se centra en los aspectos vulgares y morbosos de la vida de los hematófagos, sinó en la paradoja de notar que como en todas las luchas de especies, los humanos con frecuencia se comportan de maneras despreciables, y los vampiros pueden ser protectores, a pesar de ser al mismo tiempo predadores.
Lo mejor de la película es la metamorfosis de los presonajes, no la de los efectos especiales -que por cierto tambien son muy buenos- , sinó la transformación interior de ambos niños que viven una historia de amor que los une a partir de esa ¨diferencia¨ con el resto del mundo: uno por que no se integra especialmente con los demás humanos, la otra, porque es un vampiro.
Al mismo tiempo se observa el panorama de la sociedad sueca, sus paisajes, sus grupos sociales, todo ello combinado con la magistral ambientación en los años setenta a traves de los decorados, las ropas y la musica.
Una excelente película para disfrutar del suspenso y la ternura de una misteriosa historia de amor.
